The Barnett Researcher Award supports emerging researchers who demonstrate curiosity, courage, and a strong commitment to advancing knowledge in mental health. It empowers individuals—especially those outside traditional research pathways—to explore meaningful questions and build a foundation for long‑term impact.

Applications will be accepted over a six‑month period. This is longer than the standard application window and potential applicants are encouraged to contact the Foundation at foundation@ranzcp.org for support in developing their proposal.

Applications open Monday 2 March 2026, and close on Monday 31 August 2026.

You will need the following documentation to complete your application.

• Curriculum Vitae
• Proof of ethics - approval, or evidence of a pending application, to carry out your research
• At least one referee’s report
• Letter of support from a Supervisor, Research Group Leader or mentor.
