About The Howard Cooper Travelling Fellowship in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry
The Howard Cooper Travelling Fellowship in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry is named in honour of the late Dr Howard Cooper, a former Chair of the RANZCP’s Faculty of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry (FCAP).
It is made annually to a visiting overseas trainee psychiatrist or psychiatrist from the Asia-Pacific region who wishes to gain experience in child and adolescent psychiatry in Australia or New Zealand.
Eligibility Criteria
The Fellowship is made to an overseas-based psychiatry trainee or psychiatrist who is within 5 years of obtaining their psychiatry qualification. Recipients must be from the Asia-Pacific region.
Selection Requirements
The selection process will take into account the need for training and experience not readily available in the applicant’s home country, and the capacity of the applicant to improve local child and adolescent mental health services on return to their home country.
Form of Award
The Prize comprises:
- A framed award certificate
- A$3500
- An invitation to accept the award at the College Ceremony during Congress.
- registration to attend either the Faculty conference or the RANZCP Congress (at which the recipient would make a formal presentation)
